Experience Has It’s Benefits
It is rewarding to know that after all these years, the S.C. Dixon signature in the lower corner of a bridal portrait is considered a mark of real prestige. It didn’t happen overnight. When we purchased the old GRANADA STUDIO in 1973, S.C. Dixon photographed his first professional wedding under the tutelage of Udene Burnell, a prize winning portrait artist since 1931! It is a long tradition of power of art. When you call for information we send you the most comprehensive information package available to help you arrange portrait art for your wedding.
We are very selective about the weddings we choose to accept into our schedule and it is not unusual for some dates to book as much as a year in advance, so we remind you to book your wedding photography early! You deserve the best, so call us today. We can answer many of your questions over the phone and we’ll mail you our comprehensive information pack, at no obligation, the same day.
When you contact us you’ll receive not just prices but helpful information ranging from suggestions of when to shoot your portraits to tips on how to order, and good, down to earth advice on what to look for in a wedding portrait studio if we’re not available.
Four Decades Behind the Camera
I started my career as a portrait artist way back in 1973. While studying photography at the local university I had the extreme good fortune to land a position with a master photographer of over 30 years and to learn the “secrets of the trade” first hand. Since those days I have maintained her philosophy that when a sincere dedication to the art of photography comes first, commerce will follow. It was my intention was to become a world-class portrait artist who just happened to work out of Emporia, KS.
Over the ensuing years I’ve seen commissions for photo-art from nearly every state in America as well as from England, France, Mexico, Canada and Scotland.
Including the time of Emporia’s flagship photography salon, The Granada Studio™, S. C. DIXON PHOTOGRAPHY© represents well over 70 years of creating lasting memories.
It will be obvious as your tour the galleries that I am comfortable with all areas of the photographic art, high school seniors, children, brides, weddings, pets, families, up to and including fine-arts prints of the Kansas prairies and towns as well as of my travels in Europe and elsewhere.
If you have questions please feel free to call or email . Meanwhile, enjoy the tour!
